Looking for Buddha

This Buddha statue from the fourth or fifth century AD is part of the new exhibition "Gandhara -- The Buddhist Heritage of Pakistan" at the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany. Gandhara is the name of a region in present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Buddha, seen here on Thursday, Nov. 20, and some 300 other objects introduce visitors to the art of the ancient kingdom. The exhibition runs from Nov. 21 through March 15, 2009.
